Natural stone has been used for flooring for thousands of years in public buildings, places of worship, royal residences and grand houses because of its beauty and durability. Typical examples of natural stone used for floor tiles are limestone, granite, slate and marble and they are all carved out of rock that has been quarried. Quarrying the stone used to be a labour-intensive manual process but is now mechanised using advanced tools so natural stone tiles have become substantially more affordable.
Natural stone quarries exist in many parts of the world from right across Europe to India, Asia, North America and South America.
We stock some of the most beautiful natural stone tiles such as Travertine, Crema Marfil marble, Slate and Limestone, which are all suitable for both Floors and Walls. They should all be sealed with the recommended sealer to enhance their appearance and to increase resistance to moisture and dirt.
