One of the most important factors to consider when installing floor tiles in a bathroom or wet room is safety. Tiles can be very slippery when wet so all tiled floors in shower or bathing areas should ideally be non slip tiles. In the UK there are safety standards (DIN 51130 standard) that should be complied with depending on the type of installation.
With the recent popularity of fully tiled wet rooms where the tiled floor effectively forms the floor of the shower, these safety considerations are even more important.
All of our non-slip tiles have an R11 anti-slip rating on the UK’s DIN 51130 R scale which runs from R9 to R13, where R9 is the most slippery, and R13 the least slippery. Floor surfaces that are classified as R9 would be unacceptably slippery in wet areas.
